The CD-debut of the Würth Philharmoniker

A glimpse behind the scenes - Making of the CD-debut at the Carmen Würth Forum

Lead by its chief conductor Claudio Vandelli, the orchestra has dedicated itself in its home, the Reinhold Würth Saal in the Carmen W+rth Forum, to Johannes Brahms‘ Akademischer Festouvertüre and his first piano quartett, arranged for orchestra by Arnold Schönberg.

For the CD.debut, Claudio Vandelli, who has been chief conductor of the Würth Philharmoniker since January 2020, has chosen a program that puts the highest expectations on its musicians. „The quartett for piano is a main work of Brahms, that sounds like a 5th symphony in Schönbergs rarely recorded, sonorous orchestration.“ Vandelli explains. „It is a demanding piece, with which the Würth Philharmoniker can demonstrate their virtuosity and which at the same time allows the full energy of the acoustics of the Reinhold Würth Saal, where the pieces have been recorded, to unfold."

The debut has been recorded by the well-renowed sound technician Bert van der Wolf in his high-resolution recording technique containing nine channels (five surround plus four hight channels). „It is my goal to achieve a perfect copy of the listening experience of a concert with the highest level of plasticity." Van der Wolf points out his motivation.

The CD is available at Challenge Records.
